Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Join Vital Smiles Georgia in Albany as we distribute brochures, toothbrushes, and toothpaste to the community in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October 26. We will be near the University of Georgia College Pharmacy facility at the intersection of 311 W. 3rd Avenue and N. Jackson Street from 8am – 1:30pm. This event is open to the public, so come by and bring a friend to support this important cause.

We believe that encouraging good dental hygiene in children is an essential step in establishing a life-long pattern of good health and wellness practices. This includes encouraging both women and men to get regular screenings for breast cancer and other conditions that can be treated through early detection.

Visit some of our healthcare partners like Phoebe Putney to learn more about what you can do to raise awareness and help the community in fighting the battle against breast cancer. Don’t forget to wear pink to our event to show your support for this important cause!

Cleaning

bottom-cleaning

We keep your child’s teeth sparkling clean with the help of our electric tooth brush (a motorized prophy brush). We then apply bubbles (fluoride) to keep his or her teeth strong.

Filling Cavities

We use fun tools like Mr. Bumpy (our slow speed drill) to remove decay. Your child will then receive a silver star (filling), and the tooth will be good as new.

Sealants

Sealants are thin, protective coatings used to prevent tooth decay. They fill in the tiny grooves of the tooth surface so that brushing becomes more effective.

X-Rays

We use a tooth camera (X-ray machine) to take pictures of your child’s teeth. This gives us a better look at his or her smile. Our Digital X-rays are state of the art, limiting radiation exposure.
