Fillings

A filling is a material that replaces and restores a tooth structure that has been damaged by decay or fracture.

The knowledge of a cavity or as we like to call it, the sugar bug, often strikes fears into patients. That’s why we provide children with a fun, comfortable experience that will leave them with little, if any anxiety.

Before we begin treatment, you child will receive sleepy juice, the anesthesia that numbs the teeth and gums. Your child should never feel pain during a procedure, and we will work to ensure that he or she is comfortable during treatment. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to aid in making patients comfortable when needed.

We use one of two tools to treat a cavity and restore your child’s tooth:

  • Mr. Bumpy, a slow-speed tool that removes the decay from your child’s tooth and helps prepare the tooth for a filling
  • Water Whistle, a high-speed tool that removes decay from your child’s tooth.

We then give your child a silver star, or a silver filling made from an amalgam of restoration material. Your child’s tooth should be as good as new after a filling.

Cleaning

We keep your child’s teeth sparkling clean with the help of our electric tooth brush (a motorized prophy brush). We then apply bubbles (fluoride) to keep his or her teeth strong.

Filling Cavities

We use fun tools like Mr. Bumpy (our slow speed drill) to remove decay. Your child will then receive a silver star (filling), and the tooth will be good as new.

Sealants

Sealants are thin, protective coatings used to prevent tooth decay. They fill in the tiny grooves of the tooth surface so that brushing becomes more effective.

X-Rays

We use a tooth camera (X-ray machine) to take pictures of your child’s teeth. This gives us a better look at his or her smile. Our Digital X-rays are state of the art, limiting radiation exposure.
